Where Holiness is Demanded
“Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee”.
John 5 : 14
Freedom at last! What a deliverance, 38 years of sickness gone, hallelujah! Come rejoice with me, the Lord has turned my captivity around.
Just trying to picture the mood of the impotent man. His deliverance deserves to be celebrated. If you have ever been sick for days, you will understand that 38 years of bedridden is no joke. But, rather than going about rejoicing, he went to the temple, maybe to show himself to the priest in order to offer for his cleansing according to the law of Moses or to praise the God who has delivered him from bondage of sickness.
There in the temple Jesus met him, and revealed the truth that will sustain his healing. Jesus said to him, thou art made whole: sin no more. You see, beyond healing lies holiness for your healing to be perfect and permanent. Holiness is the seal of our healing; the sustenance of our dominion; and the security of our eternal habitation. It’s the only highway that leads to heaven. Holiness is the very nature of God, and the greatest need of every pilgrims – who hope to see God at last.- 1 Peter 1: 14-16; Hebrew 12 : 14.
The very reason why God granted us healing, deliverance is that we might serve Him without fear, sickness or any infirmity in holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. – Luke 1 : 74,75. Have you been delivered from sickness? Do you have dominion over sins and Satan? Has the Lord given you victory? Yes I know you have the healing, deliverance, and dominion. If not, you can have it today. But before you get carried away, hear the admonition of the Lord;
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made you free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage”
“For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end”
Galatians 5 : 1; Hebrew 3 : 14.s
