When Hope is Deferred

“Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh; it is a tree of life.”

Pro. 13: 12

Hope is the greatest medicine for the soul, the best Cardiologist of a man’s heart. It’s the driver of our faith and the pilot of our charity. Without Hope, the world will be in darkness. No light can brighten like Hope, no medicine can cure like Hope.

In John chapter 5 verse 5, we were told of a certain man that had an infirmity (sickness) for 38 years waiting daily for the moving of Bethesda pool. The sick man had an aspiration – for an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water. The man also had an assurance –  that if he can only get to the pool first after the move of the water he will be heal. But, the man had no association.  Nobody could offer to help him down the pool for good 38 years. The only thing he had that sustained him for 38 years was Hope.

You see, a man begins to die when he cease to hope. Hope is a tree of life – Pro. 13:12. God is Hope , hope is God. If you need hope in life you need God. If you have God you have Hope. Therefore, if you will lose anything in life, don’t lose Hope. If you will give up on anything or anybody, don’t give up on Hope.

Hope deferred or delayed is not hope denied. There is hope for you, if only you will look up to Jesus, the Hope of the world.

When Help is Denied

“The impotent man answered him, sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me”.

John 5: 7

Life can be very frustrating when you can’t find someone to help. It’s even more worst and fruitless when you can’t help either. Your feeling of failure leads you to depression, and depression is a major cause and first stage of mental sickness.

No man is an Island. We’re created to be an independent dependent being not a parasite. You need people, people needs you. That is why God said in Genesis 2 : 18; It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. In fact, in Ecclesiastes 4 verse 10, bible declare woe to him that is alone. Man in the understanding of God is not just a male man, but human.

Every human being need a helper, even an angel need help too – Daniel 10 : 13. You need people, not just people that are physically present with you but, emotionally, people who will be able to feel the feeling of your infirmity( challenges or situation). Not a miserable people like Eliphaz, Bildad or Zophar the friends of Job.

Our world today is of great multitude of billions of people filled with selfishness and self-centered attitude. The world is in dear need of people that are selfless, who will naturally care for the need of others. Our sense of natural affection is lost. We’re daily preoccupied with self without minding the need, joy, and happiness of others.

Where do I find help?

‘I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.’

Psalms 121: 1

The man of Bethesda had great multitude around him, but these people are helpless in themselves one way or the other. They are helpless people made worse with selfishness.

Everybody in the world without exception needs help. Whether rich or poor, educated or illiterate, spiritual or carnal, we all need help. At this point, I’m helpless too, the only help I can render is to lead you to the Helper of the helpless, the Hope of the hopeless, the Self-Sufficient, and Self-Existing. The only faithful friend, the very present help in times of need. His name is Jesus, the only begotten Son of God. Turn to him today, he is willing to help you.

When the Healer Decides

Healing has never been this easy in the history of the children of Israel. Before the arrival of Christ, Bethesda pool at this time was the only available known source of healing. A demonstration of God’s mercy and love, and a foretaste of what is yet to be reveal through Christ. The way and manner Jesus manifested the power of God to heal, and to deliver, blew up their mind, confuses their inherent carnal knowledge. They ought not be surprise anyway, if they have believed what was written concerning him.

“And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”

Luke 4 : 17,18

Even the impotent man , when Jesus asked him- wilt thou be made whole? His response was- I have no man but, Jesus is more than any man. His response couldn’t prevent the Lord from fulfilling the Father’s work, because the Healer has decided. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole.

I don’t know the problem confronting your life; the infirmity of many years or the hopeless situation you’re going through. you may have spent so much money without getting appreciable result. But, one thing I know is the name of Jesus. The name that is above every needs, sickness or any challenges in your life. When he decides, it’s final. All power in heaven and earth is given to him, and with Jesus all things are possible.

What you need is not a man, all you need is Jesus

Come believing! Come believing! Come to Jesus! Look and live! Come believing! Come believing!
Come to Jesus! Look and live!

Where Holiness is Demanded

“Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee”.

John 5 : 14

Freedom at last! What a deliverance, 38 years of sickness gone, hallelujah! Come rejoice with me, the Lord has turned my captivity around.

Just trying to picture the mood of the impotent man. His deliverance deserve to be celebrated. If you have ever been sick for days, you will understand that 38 years of bedridden is no joke. But, rather than going about rejoicing, he went to the temple maybe to show himself to the priest in order to offer for his cleansing according to the law of Moses or to praise the God who has delivered him from bondage of sickness.

There in the temple Jesus met him, and revealed the truth that will sustain his healing. Jesus said to him, thou art made whole: sin no more. You see, beyond healing lies holiness for your healing to be perfect and permanent. Holiness is the seal of our healing; the sustenance of our dominion; and the security of our eternal habitation.  It’s the only highway that leads to heaven. Holiness is the very nature of God, and the greatest need of every pilgrims, who hope to see God at last.- 1 Peter 1: 14-16; Hebrew 12 : 14.

The very reason why God granted us healing, deliverance is that we might serve Him without fear, sickness or any infirmity in holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. – Luke 1 : 74,75. Have you been delivered from sickness? Do you have dominion over sins and Satan? Has the Lord given you victory? Yes I know you have the healing, deliverance, and dominion. If not, you can have it today. But before you get carried away, hear the admonition of the Lord;

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made you free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage”

“For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end”

Galatians 5 : 1; Hebrew 3 : 14.
